Navigating Technology
We live and operate in a digital age. Technology has become an intregal part of our everyday lives. So much so, that the question is no longer if your child will use technology, but how will your child engage with technology? Also, how do we equip them to do so safely? What does all this mean for your kids? How do we safeguard our children and protect them from the world that they can easily access from a phone or tablet? What should we do as parents as technology continues to change rapidly?
There are a million other questions you may be asking yourself as technology and social media continues to evolve and reshape. Well, I'm sad to say we don't have all the answers, but here are some helpful articles that may help you to navigate and proactively think through how your child will appropriately interact with technology.
The following resources are not comprehensive or overly specific to one topic, but they do offer a more general overview to help as you begin to define or redefine how technology will be used in your home. These articles are not necessarily prescriptive, but rather we offer them to assist in what and when you allow certain tech, apps or social media for your family. You are the protector and primary discipler of your child, so begin to think through what safeguards, rules, and precautions should be put in place for your family! Give yourself grace and be willing to talk through why new rules are put in place.
