Discipling My Kid

Often it feels like so much of parenting is reacting. Yes, we are on defense as we work in fighting against the world, the flesh, and working to protect our children. However, much of the call of a parent is to proactively train up your child. We are called to teach, guide, and lead them. Life happens fast and the days fly by. Before you know it, your first grader is heading into their junior year. The only way that true discipleship happens is with intentionality. You must be proactive and intentional in teaching and leading your child. This can look different and happen in so many ways. It can be the conscious choice to listen to worship music in the car together and talk through what the song teaches us about God. It can be praying together. It can be serving together in some capacity. If you don't know where to start, begin with His Word and prayer. Exemplify what following Christ looks like.
